Discontinue Active Skincare Products

Stop using retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and other active ingredients 5-7 days before your appointment.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to ensure optimal skin hydration.

Avoid Blood Thinners

Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil, for 5-7 days prior to treatment unless otherwise directed by your provider.

Consult Your Provider

Inform your provider of any recent treatments, medical conditions, or medications that could affect your skin’s healing process.

During your treatment

Consultation and Customization

Your provider will assess your skin, discuss your goals, and customize the Moxi™ and BBL® settings to address your unique concerns.

Preparation

The treatment area will be cleansed, and a topical numbing cream may be applied to ensure comfort during the session.

BBL® Treatment

BroadBand Light (BBL) is applied first, targeting redness, pigmentation, and uneven tone. The light energy stimulates the skin and promotes a more even complexion.

Moxi™ Treatment

Moxi™ uses a gentle fractionated laser to resurface the skin and stimulate collagen, which may improve the appearance of texture and fine lines. It’s safe for most skin types and requires minimal downtime.

Duration

The treatment typically takes 60-90 minutes, depending on the area treated.

After your treatment

Sun Protection

Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks after treatment. Wear protective clothing or a wide-brimmed hat if you’re outdoors.

Gentle Skincare Routine

Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer for the first week. Avoid harsh products, exfoliants, or active ingredients until your skin fully heals.

Avoid Heat and Sweating

Refrain from saunas, hot tubs, or intense exercise for 48-72 hours post-treatment to minimize redness and irritation.

Let the Skin Heal Naturally

If you experience mild peeling or flaking, let the skin shed naturally. Do not pick, scrub, or use exfoliating products.

Cold Compress

Use a cold compress to soothe any mild redness or swelling, applying it for 10-15 minutes as needed.

Expected results

Initial Results

Many clients notice brighter, more even-toned skin within 3-5 days after treatment. Redness and a mild sandpaper-like texture may occur but will subside as the skin heals.

Long-Term Improvements

Over the next 4-6 weeks, as collagen production is stimulated, skin texture, fine lines, and overall tone may continue to improve.

Cumulative Results

Results continue to improve with each treatment, offering long-lasting improvements in skin clarity and texture.

Individual results vary.

Is Moxi™ + BBL® right for you?

Your provider reviews your medical history and discusses risks and alternatives with you before recommending treatment.

Who may not be a candidate

This treatment is not suitable for everyone. Tell your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have had recent sun exposure or a tan, have an active skin infection, cold sore or rash in the area, have a history of keloid scarring, have used isotretinoin, or take medication that makes your skin sensitive to light. Your provider will review your medical history, medications and skin type before recommending treatment.

Risks and side effects

Every laser and light-based treatment carries risk. Common effects include redness, swelling, warmth, dryness, a rough or bronzed texture and flaking, and pigmented spots often darken before they flake away. Less common effects include changes in skin color, which can be darker or lighter than the surrounding skin, reactivation of cold sores, breakouts, infection, blistering, burns and scarring.
