Early laxity and crepey texture
Skin that has lost spring and shows fine crepey lines but has not yet sagged. The best candidate for non-surgical treatment; SkinTyte™, VirtueRF, microneedling and hyperdilute Radiesse® all suit it.
Firmer skin, with an honest view of what non-surgical treatment can do.
Mild to moderate skin laxity is treated at Wise Aesthetics in Carmel, Indiana with treatments that stimulate your own collagen: infrared skin tightening with SkinTyte™, radiofrequency microneedling with VirtueRF, collagen biostimulators such as Sculptra® and hyperdilute Radiesse®, and PDO threads for a subtle lift. Results build over a series and over months rather than in one visit. More advanced laxity, where skin has lost its elasticity, is beyond what non-surgical treatment can meaningfully change, and we will tell you if that is the case. Individual results vary.

Skin stays firm because of two proteins: collagen, which gives it structure, and elastin, which lets it snap back. Production of both slows from the late twenties, and sun exposure, smoking and large weight changes break down what is there. By the forties and fifties the skin is thinner and less springy, and gravity starts to show.
Laxity is rarely just the skin. The fat pads and bone that support the face also diminish with age, so the skin has less to drape over; that is why a jawline can soften even when the skin itself is in good condition. Treating laxity well means telling the two apart: skin that has lost firmness responds to collagen-stimulating treatments, while a face that has lost support often needs volume restored first, which is covered on our Volume Loss & Balance page.
We are direct about limits. Non-surgical tightening works best on mild to moderate laxity, where there is still elastin to work with. When skin is markedly loose, a surgical lift does what no energy device can, and a consultation with us will say so rather than sell you a series that will disappoint.

How much laxity you have, and where, decides what is realistic.
Skin that has lost spring and shows fine crepey lines but has not yet sagged. The best candidate for non-surgical treatment; SkinTyte™, VirtueRF, microneedling and hyperdilute Radiesse® all suit it.
The lower face losing definition as skin and support shift downward. Addressed by combining tightening with biostimulators or threads, and sometimes with volume restoration.
Loose or banded skin on the neck and under the chin. SkinTyte™, VirtueRF and hyperdilute Radiesse® are used here; neck bands from muscle are a different concern, covered under Double Chin & Jawline Definition.
Skin that hangs or folds, often after significant weight loss or in later decades. Non-surgical treatments offer modest change at best; a surgical opinion is the honest recommendation.
Every option below works by prompting your skin to make new collagen, so results arrive gradually and keep building for months after a series. They differ in how deep they work and whether they also lift.
Laxity usually responds best to two approaches together: for example SkinTyte™ for the skin and Sculptra® for support, or VirtueRF with a thread lift. Your provider will set the order and spacing.
Your provider will:
Collagen treatments are measured in months. Some tightening may be visible within weeks, but the main change develops over 2 to 4 months after a series and continues to build. Thread lifts give an immediate lift that settles over two weeks, with collagen benefits developing afterward. Individual results vary.
Adults with mild to moderate laxity who still have reasonable skin elasticity are the best candidates. Treatment may not be appropriate, or may need to wait, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection in the area, have a history of keloid scarring, take blood-thinning medication (for threads and injections), have a pacemaker or implanted device (for radiofrequency), have certain autoimmune conditions, or have advanced laxity better served by surgery. Each treatment page lists its own considerations, and your provider will review your medical history at consultation. This page is general information and is not medical advice.
Where laxity is advanced, a surgical lift is the honest answer, and we will tell you so and help you find a surgical consultation rather than recommend a series that cannot meet your goal.
No. Non-surgical treatments firm and modestly lift mild to moderate laxity; they do not reposition tissue the way surgery does. For the right candidate they delay or reduce the need for surgery, and for advanced laxity we will say that surgery is the better answer. Individual results vary.
Collagen takes time. Expect the main change 2 to 4 months after a series, building for months afterward. A thread lift shows immediately. Individual results vary.
SkinTyte™ feels like deep warmth and needs no numbing. VirtueRF and microneedling use numbing cream and feel like pressure and heat. Threads and injectables involve brief injections with local anesthetic. Most clients find all of these tolerable.
It depends on the cause. If the skin has lost firmness, SkinTyte™ or VirtueRF; if the jawline has lost support underneath, Sculptra® or filler; if a subtle lift is wanted now, PDO threads. Most jawline plans combine two of these. Your provider decides after examining you. Individual results vary.
Yes, for mild to moderate laxity. SkinTyte™, VirtueRF and hyperdilute Radiesse® are all used on the neck, and crepey neck skin responds well to a series. Markedly loose neck skin is a surgical question.
Yes. SkinTyte™ and hyperdilute Radiesse® are used on the arms, abdomen, thighs and knees for crepey, loose skin. Results depend on how much laxity there is; your provider will assess.
Cost depends on the treatment, the area and the number of treatments in the series. Each treatment page describes what a typical client pays, and your provider will give you a written cost at consultation. Journey membership includes CoolPeel® and microneedling; Essentials and Journey members receive 10% off other treatments and skin care.
