Refrain from direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least 1-2 weeks prior to treatment. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily.
Stop using retinoids, exfoliating acids (glycolic or salicylic acids), and Vitamin C serums for 5-7 days before your appointment. Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments on the treatment area for at least 2 weeks.
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications and supplements (e.g., fish oil, Vitamin E) for 5-7 days before your treatment unless directed otherwise by a healthcare provider.
Drink plenty of water and use a hydrating moisturizer in the days leading up to your treatment.
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Avoid applying lotions, oils, or sunscreen on the day of your treatment.
Notify your provider of any medical conditions, medications, or recent treatments, and let them know if you have a history of cold sores (antiviral medication may be prescribed).
Your skin will be cleansed, and a topical numbing cream will be applied to enhance your comfort. Numbing typically takes 30-45 minutes.
