Unwanted Hair
Lasers deliver concentrated pulses of energy to hair follicles, converting light into heat. This process targets and damages the chromophores, which may reduce future hair growth.
Laser hair removal is a popular professional laser treatment that helps clients work toward their hair reduction goals. Laser hair removal can reduce unwanted hair on most areas of the body. From treating smaller areas on the face to larger body areas, we can customize a treatment plan that meets your needs. The most common treatment areas include the arms, legs, back, chest, underarms, bikini area, and face.

Laser Hair Removal offers a well-tolerated option for most skin tones and hair textures, whether you want to target specific areas or reduce how often you need to shave.

Many clients find laser hair removal comfortable. The sensation is often described as a light snap with each pulse of the laser, but this is a tolerable option for most clients.
Because laser hair removal reduces the need for frequent shaving or waxing, many clients notice less irritation and fewer ingrown hairs. Individual results vary.

Before, during and after your Laser Hair Removal appointment at Wise Aesthetics.
Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily on the treatment area.
Shave the treatment area 24 hours prior to your appointment. Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading for at least 4-6 weeks, as the hair follicle must be intact for the laser to target it.
Stop using retinoids, glycolic acids, or other exfoliating products on the treatment area for at least 5 days before your session.
Refrain from using creams, lotions, deodorants, or makeup on the treatment area on the day of your appointment.
Inform your provider of any medications or medical conditions, especially if you’re taking photosensitizing medications or have a history of cold sores.
The treatment area will be cleansed, and if needed, a topical numbing cream may be applied for comfort.
A handheld laser device will deliver pulses of laser energy to the treatment area. This energy is absorbed by the hair follicles, which may reduce future hair growth.
Some devices use cooling technology to minimize discomfort.
Most clients describe the sensation as a mild stinging or snapping, similar to a rubber band against the skin. The discomfort is typically brief and tolerable.
The treatment time varies depending on the size of the area, ranging from 15 minutes for smaller areas (e.g., underarms) to 60 minutes for larger areas (e.g., legs or back).
Protect the treated area with sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.
Apply a gentle moisturizer or aloe vera gel to the treated area to alleviate redness or sensitivity.
Refrain from hot showers, saunas, swimming pools, or vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment.
Do not remove hair from the root in between sessions. Shaving is allowed if needed.
Treated hairs will gradually shed over the next 1-2 weeks. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating the area until the skin has fully healed.
Do not use retinoids, exfoliants, or other harsh skincare products on the treated area for 5-7 days.
After the first session, many clients notice some reduction in hair growth, and regrowth may appear finer and lighter.
With a full series of treatments, most clients achieve significant, long-lasting hair reduction in the treated area.
Occasional maintenance sessions may be needed to address new or dormant hair follicles.
Individual results vary.
