HD Radiesse Biostimulation

A diluted form of Radiesse, placed just beneath the skin to support your own collagen in areas where skin has thinned or lost firmness.

Gradual support for your skin's own collagen

Radiesse is an injectable made of calcium hydroxylapatite, a mineral-based material suspended in a gel. HD stands for hyperdilute: the product is mixed with saline, and often lidocaine, before treatment. Placed in a fine layer beneath the skin, it acts as a scaffold that prompts your body's own collagen response over the following months.

Undiluted Radiesse is used to restore volume in a defined area. Hyperdilute Radiesse is used across a broader surface for skin quality: firmness, thickness and texture. We offer both, and your provider will explain which approach, if either, suits what you want to address.

FDA status, stated plainly

Radiesse is FDA-approved for specific uses: moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, volume loss in the back of the hands, and, when diluted, wrinkles of the décolleté. Other uses of diluted Radiesse described on this page are off-label, which means the FDA has not reviewed the product for that particular use. Off-label use is common in aesthetic medicine and is a decision made between you and your provider. During your consultation we will tell you which applies to your plan.

Who it may suit

  • Skin that has become thinner, looser or crepey with time, sun exposure or weight change
  • Areas where you want gradual improvement in skin quality, not a change in shape
  • Clients who prefer a result that develops over months

Individual results vary.

Important

A consultation with a licensed medical provider is required before treatment to confirm that it is appropriate for you and to give you the treatment fee. Your medical history and current health are reviewed at that visit.

Please follow the pre-treatment instructions you are given. If they have not been followed, your provider may need to reschedule your treatment.

How HD Radiesse Addresses Your Concerns

Collagen loss shows up differently in different places. These are the areas where Radiesse is most often discussed in consultation.

Book your consult today

Loss of Volume & Flatness

Over time, collagen loss and decreased fat distribution can lead to a flat or sagging appearance in the buttocks. HD Radiesse BBL enhances volume by stimulating collagen production, creating a fuller, lifted, and naturally contoured look.

Lack of Definition & Shape

For those seeking enhanced curves and improved shape, HD Radiesse BBL contours and sculpts the buttocks by subtly adding volume while tightening the skin, creating natural-looking definition and proportion.

Skin Laxity & Crepey Texture

Aging, weight fluctuations, and genetics can result in loose, crepey, or sagging skin in the buttocks. The biostimulatory properties of Hyperdilute Radiesse promote collagen and elastin production, improving skin firmness, texture, and elasticity over time.

Cellulite & Uneven Skin Tone

Cellulite and uneven skin texture are caused by a loss of collagen and skin support structures. HD Radiesse BBL strengthens the skin's foundation, smoothing dimples, fine lines, and irregularities, leading to a firmer and more youthful appearance.

Your Treatment Journey

What to expect

From the moment you walk through our doors to the days and weeks following your visit, we're here to guide you every step of the way. Explore what to expect before, during, and after your treatment, including anticipated results and recommended treatment frequency—so you can feel confident, prepared, and informed about your results.

Before Your Treatment

Review Medications and Supplements

Your provider will advise whether to pause aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E or other products that can increase bruising. Do not stop any prescribed medication without speaking to the prescriber.

Limit Alcohol

Avoid alcohol for 24 to 48 hours beforehand to reduce the chance of bruising and swelling.

Space Out Other Skin Treatments

Tell us about any recent laser treatment, peel or injectable in the area so your provider can time your visit appropriately.

Share Your Medical History

Tell your provider about medical conditions, allergies and anything you take regularly.

During Your Treatment

Assessment and Marking

Your provider examines the area and marks where the product will be placed.

Preparing the Skin

The skin is cleansed. A topical numbing cream may be applied for comfort.

Placement

The diluted product is placed beneath the skin through a small number of entry points, usually with a cannula, and spread evenly across the area.

Massage

Your provider may massage the area to help distribute the product.

What It Feels Like

Most clients describe pressure and brief stinging. The product is commonly mixed with lidocaine to make treatment more comfortable.

After Your Treatment

Expect Some Swelling or Bruising

Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and usually settle within a few days. A cool compress can help.

Follow Your Provider's Massage Instructions

You may be asked to massage the area for several days. Do so only as directed.

Ease Back Into Exercise

Avoid strenuous exercise for the period your provider recommends.

Area-Specific Care

If your thighs or buttocks were treated, your provider may ask you to limit prolonged pressure on the area for the first few days.

Know When to Call

Contact the practice promptly about pain that is increasing, skin colour change, firm lumps or anything that concerns you.

Expected Results

Gradual Change

The saline in the diluted product is absorbed within days, so any early fullness is temporary. The change this treatment is designed for comes from your own collagen and develops over the following months.

What to Look For

Clients typically report skin that feels firmer and looks smoother in the treated area. How much change you see, and how long it lasts, depends on the area, your skin and your age.

Individual results vary.

Treatment Frequency

Your Plan

Your provider will recommend the number of sessions and the spacing between them after examining the area. Many clients have more than one session, and some return for maintenance. Your plan is set at consultation and reviewed as you go.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the difference between Radiesse and HD Radiesse?
They are the same product. HD, or hyperdilute, Radiesse has been mixed with saline so that it spreads thinly across a larger area. Undiluted Radiesse is used to restore volume in a specific place. Diluted Radiesse is used for skin quality.
Is HD Radiesse FDA-approved?
Radiesse is FDA-approved for certain facial wrinkles and folds, for volume loss in the back of the hands, and, when diluted, for wrinkles of the décolleté. Using diluted Radiesse in other areas is off-label. We will tell you at consultation which applies to you.
How many sessions will I need, and when will I see a change?
That depends on the area and on your skin, and your provider will recommend a plan after examining you. Collagen builds slowly, so most of the change develops over a period of months, not days. Individual results vary.
What is recovery like after HD Radiesse?
Swelling, tenderness and bruising at the treatment site are common and usually settle within a few days. Your provider will tell you when to return to exercise and whether to massage the area. A numbing cream is usually applied before treatment, and the product is commonly mixed with lidocaine for comfort.
