Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil, for at least 7 days before your treatment to minimize bruising.
Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours prior to the treatment to reduce swelling and bruising risks.
Notify your provider of any medical conditions, allergies, or medications you are taking, especially if they affect healing or clotting.
Swelling is common after treatment, so schedule your session with enough time before important events.
Arrive with a clean face and avoid applying makeup, lotions, or creams to the treatment area on the day of the treatment.
Your provider will evaluate the treatment area, discuss your goals, and create a customized treatment plan.
The area will be cleansed, and a grid will be marked to ensure precise injection placement. A topical numbing agent may be applied to enhance comfort.
Using a fine needle, Kybella® will be injected into the targeted area. The treatment typically takes 15-20 minutes.
You may experience mild swelling, redness, or tenderness immediately after the treatment, which subsides over time.
Apply a cold compress to the treated area for 10-15 minutes at a time during the first 24 hours to reduce swelling.
Do not massage, rub, or apply pressure to the treated area for at least 48 hours.
Keep your head elevated and avoid lying flat for 4-6 hours after the treatment to reduce swelling.
Refrain from heavy exercise, saunas, or hot tubs for 48 hours post-treatment to minimize swelling and irritation.
Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours to support healing.
Swelling, bruising, and tenderness are normal and typically resolve within 1-2 weeks. Contact your provider if you experience severe pain, excessive swelling, or other concerning symptoms.
